Gregory Birdow is a name with which you will become very familiar. He is a brilliant and vibrant poet. His words will
jump right off of the page, and into your heart and mind.
He has performed at Dallas' renowned poetry spot, Sankofa Arts Kafe, and has received great response from his work. We
at Latter Rain expect great things from this talented young man.
Look for his upcoming volume of poetry right here in the very near future. In the meantime, here is a sample of his writing:
Before I ever envisioned you with my physical eye, it was the intellectual conversations and
your enthusiastic vision I truly recognized.
Your actions and your positive speech were the things that defined you to me.
You are a seed...germinating...establishing roots...being showered by the grace of latter rain, and
remembered in longevity will be your name.
...uncommon, not the same.
You endured and accepted the rain...swallowed the pain, picked up your pen...grabbed from the dark
universe, vivid imaginations.
And beautiful, poetic art you created, can never be imitated.
...debilitated, but yet motivated in God's word, your roots are foundated, and your leaves are shaded
for rest for the heavy laden.
...always participating in the aid of others...a true epitome of a woman...and strong, single mother.
...a true born soldier...a heavy boulder, rolling down on negativity, elevating positivity to unknown
degrees.
Weak brothers are not worthy to stand before you, let alone bow on their knees. You are unrecognized
peace...an uplifting energy that is only understood spiritually,
...and, if you find me worthy, continue to feed me and keep giving.
Continue to restore in peoples' lives, the worth of living. Awaken the giants in us that sleeps;
Help us to discover that peace.
